Symposia
Our symposia are designed to provide an in-depth forum for informed dialogue on important public issues related to one of our focus areas. Symposia are designed to bring thoughtful speakers together on one subject with an ethical dimension and raise informed discussion of the topic in the public sphere.
Our symposia are designed so that the Foundation may serve as a center for ideas and resources that promote ethical leadership in one of our focus areas.
We collect the proceedings of our symposia and make them available to the public. Individual papers can be downloaded from our website in PDF format. We publish symposia proceedings in soft cover and have donated copies to school, university and public libraries.
We have held four symposia to date:
- Beyond Cynicism: Toward Ethics in Leadership (2000)
- Community Values in an Age of Globalization (2002)
- Canadian Values in the World Community (2004)
- Identity and Polarization: Implications for our Ability to Live Well Together (2008)
Our next symposium is planned for October 1 - 2, 2010:
