Internships

The Sheldon Chumir Foundation has an annual internship program for graduates of programs in any field relevant to ethics in leadership.

The internship is normally a nine-month program starting each September.  Depending on the needs of the Foundation and the wishes of the Intern, the program may be extended for up to another 3 months.

An important aim of the internship is to give the Intern broad experience in applied ethics.  Interns work with the Foundation on research, program development, publications, public engagement, and related administrative support.

The Foundation advertises the internship in mid-November of each year.  The competitive process for the internship ends in March.  The successful candidate will be notified by mid-May, with the internship to commence on or about September 15.  The Foundation reserves the right not to make an appointment of Intern in any given year, or to make more than one appointment, if appropriate.

The Foundation seeks Interns who display a deep understanding of ethics in leadership and public life together with imagination and creativity of thought, demonstrated experience in working with the community, strong organizational skills, superior writing skills and a personal commitment to the Foundation's mission.
